A sex tape featuring the boss's daughter: a "slip of honor" worth washing away in blood.
A blind revenge that sent an innocent young footballer to the hospital a month ago, near death. And a counter-revenge involving gunfire, in an internal feud that spares no one.
At dawn this morning, Carabinieri officers from the Naples Central Company closed in on those responsible for the September 15th ambush on Via Conte di Mola, arresting four people, as ordered by the Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA) and the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office. They arrested a 46-year-old boss from the Spanish Quarters (already under house arrest), his 17-year-old son, a 20-year-old woman, and another minor.
The "sin" of the hot video
The investigation revealed a backstory that intertwines criminal activity and deviant family dynamics. The firestorm was allegedly unleashed by a young man from the group, romantically linked to the clan leader's underage daughter. An intolerable affront to the boss: the boy allegedly showed others explicit videos of their sexual encounters.
A humiliation that, according to the criminal logic of the Neighborhoods, demanded exemplary punishment. The boss thus organized a death squad.
The Wrong Ambush: The Bullets for Umberto Catanzaro
On September 15th, the commando went into action. Three people were riding a stolen scooter: the 46-year-old boss, his 17-year-old son, and a third accomplice. Their target was the Smart car driven by the man who posted the videos.
But the ambush is a disaster. The commandos riddle the car with bullets, but the real target remains unharmed. The one who pays the highest price is the friend sitting next to him: the young soccer player Umberto Catanzaro, uninvolved in the incident, who is hit by several bullets and hospitalized in critical condition.
The ambush was supposed to be even more massive: a second scooter carrying two other young people (including another 17-year-old) was ready to intervene, but it arrived on the scene after the attack had already been completed.

Revenge and arrests
Having miraculously escaped death, the boss's true target wasn't the state, but rather his own personal vendetta. He went to the home of the girlfriend of one of the boss's men and shot him in the legs.
Fate was cruel: the man who was shot in the leg was one of the two 17-year-olds who had arrived late at the scene of the attack on him.
The Carabinieri's thorough investigations have reconstructed the entire, whirlwind chain of violence. Today's arrests were also triggered by the risk of flight: the 46-year-old boss, according to investigators, was ready to flee to Spain.
Among those arrested is the boss's 17-year-old son, a familiar face: last December, he was among the youths involved in the clumsy attempted Christmas tree theft in the Galleria Principe in Naples. Yesterday he stole decorations; today he's accused of participating in a murderous ambush.
At the boss's house, the Carabinieri seized a system with 18 CCTV cameras, a machine gun, drugs, money and a gold chain with a crucifix worth 150 thousand euros.
During the arrests, the Carabinieri seized a video surveillance system consisting of 18 cameras covering a large area of the Spanish Quarter; 13 grams of marijuana in one package; 6 grams of marijuana divided into two packages; 41 grams of cocaine divided into three packages; 5 grams of type 2C-B amphetamine (known as pink cocaine) in one package; and drug packaging materials.
In addition, two electronic devices for the removal of electrical and radio transmitting sources; $536 in small and medium denomination banknotes; €12.400 in cash, also in small and medium denomination banknotes; a yellow gold crucifix necklace weighing 124 grams; a replica air rifle without the required red cap; 60 homemade high-explosive devices, weighing a total of 2,5 kg; an imitation Rolex watch; and one of the scooters used during the ambush.
