During an anti-drug raid overnight in Villaricca , Carabinieri from the local station stopped and arrested a young drug dealer. The arrested man is 21-year-old Filippo Savanelli, originally from Marano and already known to law enforcement.
The young man was caught in his car, and during the search, officers found 69 doses of cocaine and crack, pre-packaged and ready for sale. Several cell phones were also found in the vehicle, containing messages that investigators discovered could prove crucial in reconstructing the network of contacts and the drug trafficking chain.
Savanelli was arrested on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and is currently awaiting trial. The operation is part of intensified surveillance efforts by the Carabinieri in the northern area of Naples , a region constantly battling drug trafficking.
