Pompeii – Pizza as a symbol of rebirth, solidarity, and education. This was the underlying theme of the press conference held in the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Pompeii, where the Vincenzo Iannucci Academy, a national hub for pizza training, presented its new solidarity projects in collaboration with the Santobono Pausilipon Foundation and the Aversa Prison.

A dual commitment, social and educational, which confirms the Academy's vocation to combine professional excellence and civic responsibility.

"Hands That Give": Pizza as a Smile for Young Patients

The first of the projects presented, entitled “Le Mani Che Donano,” was born from the collaboration between the Academy and the Santobono Pausilipon Foundation.

The initiative will bring the Academy's master pizza makers and pastry chefs to the pediatric wards of Campania's hospitals, where they will hold workshops and meet with hospitalized children, engaging them in pizza making as a moment of play, socialization, and hope.

"Pizza is a gesture of love that unites," said Vincenzo Iannucci, founder of the Academy and official partner of Molini Pivetti, "and we believe that training should be, first and foremost, a human journey. With these projects, we want to bring a smile to those experiencing difficult situations and offer concrete opportunities to those who want to start over."

Dr. brought greetings from the Foundation.

Dr. Flavia Matrisciano, director of Santobono Pausilipon, thanked the Academy for "a collaboration that combines solidarity, creativity, and genuine support for young patients."

Prison courses: a second chance for Aversa inmates.

The second project, in collaboration with the Aversa Prison, aims to promote the social reintegration of inmates through vocational training.
Thanks to the courses organized by the Academy's instructors, participants will be able to acquire technical skills in the bakery sector, learning trades that could offer a new perspective on life once they leave prison.

During the meeting, Dr. Angelo Russo, the Aversa school's educational officer, emphasized "the value of programs that combine education and dignity, restoring hope to those who need to rebuild their future."

A new training season in the name of inclusion

During the conference, the Vincenzo Iannucci Academy's new season of professional courses, aimed at pizza chefs, pastry chefs, and other professionals in the sector, was also announced.

A training program aimed at expanding skills and spreading an accessible and inclusive culture of excellence, open to both professionals and young people who want to enter the profession.

The meeting was attended by numerous professors and members of the Academy, well-known figures in the national baking industry, who renewed their commitment to supporting ethical and supportive education.

The Vincenzo Iannucci Academy thus continues to distinguish itself as a model of training with a social soul, capable of uniting technique, culture, and humanity.
From hands kneading flour, new stories of rebirth are born, inside and outside the prison walls, in pediatric wards and classrooms where pizza becomes not just food, but a tool for connection, dignity, and hope.
