Mugnano - A Carabinieri raid nipped an attempted theft in the bud at a construction site on Via Gaio Valerio Catullo, culminating in the arrest of Pasquale Caiazzo, 61, from Marano di Napoli, a face all too familiar to law enforcement.

The scene unfolded in the dead of night. The man, taking advantage of the darkness and quiet of the construction site, entered the area intent on snatching up construction materials: tools, copper wire, anything that could be valuable on the black market. What he didn't know was that he was already being targeted.

The soldiers, alerted or perhaps simply guided by the instinct of those who know the area like the back of their hand, swooped in just as the 61-year-old was at work. At the sight of their uniforms, Caiazzo's instinct kicked in: flee. A desperate sprint through piles of bricks and rusty metal, a last, pathetic attempt to escape.

But the chase lasted a flash. The Carabinieri, younger and more agile, stopped him after a few frantic minutes of pursuit.

Now, the 61-year-old faces yet another chapter in the justice system. Taken to the police station and then transferred to prison, he will face charges of attempted theft. While awaiting trial, he will have plenty of time to reflect on that "pension" stolen from a construction site in Mugnano, which instead turned into a one-way ticket to prison.

The article talks about a theft at a construction site in Mugnano, and the arrest of a 61-year-old man. It's strange that people like him would try to steal; I don't understand how they think they can get away with it this way.
