Acerra – He left Italy with the ambition of building a career abroad. In Colombia, he succeeded, becoming a well-known entrepreneur in real estate and import-export businesses.
But on Tuesday afternoon, in Cali, his life stopped in the middle of the street. Clemente Marzullo, 47, originally from Acerra, was murdered by an armed commando.
According to local press reports, the attack occurred in the El Limonar neighborhood, a residential area in the southern part of the city. Marzullo had just parked his car when at least two hitmen approached him and shot him with multiple bullets fired at close range. It was a lightning-fast attack that lasted just seconds.
Once the shooting ended, the group quickly dispersed. Residents, alarmed by the gunfire, called for help. The businessman was taken to the hospital, but his injuries were too serious: doctors could do nothing to save him, and he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the emergency room.
Colombian authorities have opened an investigation to reconstruct the motive and identify those responsible. Investigators are analyzing footage from local surveillance cameras and interviewing witnesses. No leads have been ruled out, ranging from settling scores to possible disputes related to the businessman's business activities in Colombia.
Messages of condolence on social media from his friends
The news of the murder shocked Acerra, where Marzullo was still well-known and where part of his family lives. Among the many messages of condolence, one stands out from a dear friend, who on social media remembered the entrepreneur with affectionate words: a man "serious, calm, never a word out of place, with an unparalleled smile," whom he had known since they were boys playing basketball together. "What a person, what a boy. May you rest in peace. Goodbye Clemè," he wrote.

It's sad to hear about these things, especially when they happen to people who have worked hard to build a life abroad. It's incomprehensible how such violent acts can happen for no apparent reason. We hope the authorities find the culprits.
