Another story of domestic violence narrowly avoided. Another woman narrowly saved. This time in Caserta, where a daughter, hearing her father's angry voice from Milan, realized her mother's life was in danger and had the foresight to call the Carabinieri.
It all happened early Saturday afternoon, in a suburb of the city. On the other end of the line, the daughter of a 56-year-old security guard heard the man utter terrible words: "I'll kill her." She didn't hesitate. She dialed 112, providing every detail possible and also alerting a neighbor, asking her to rush to help her mother.
The Carabinieri Race
At 1:50 PM, a patrol from the Caserta Carabinieri Station arrived at the couple's home. The terrified woman had taken refuge in her neighbor's apartment while awaiting the officers. Shortly thereafter, the man was located in his car not far from the house.
At the sight of the police, he spontaneously handed over a legally held pistol.
