Naples - Tomorrow, Wednesday, November 12, will be a difficult day for commuters and students: the Circumvesuviana train is preparing for another 24-hour shutdown. The protest, called by the Confail union, will involve train crews on the Vesuvian lines operated by Ente Autonomo Volturno (EAV) and will seriously jeopardize the regularity of service.
The public transport company itself announced this in an official statement, specifying:
“A 24-hour company strike has been called by Confail for November 12, 2025, which will only affect traveling personnel on the Vesuvian lines due to organizational issues.”
The strike comes a month after the last strike, on October 13th, when the union stopped trains for four hours. On that occasion, EAV recalls, turnout was 29,9%.
Tomorrow, however, the strike will last all day. Running services will therefore be subject to the number of participating workers, with possible cancellations and delays on all routes connecting Naples with the Vesuvian and coastal towns.
The busiest time slots will still be guaranteed:
from 5.30 to 8.30 in the morning
from 16.30pm to 19.30pm
Outside these hours, service may be significantly disrupted. Travelers are encouraged to check the schedule in advance and, if possible, consider alternative transportation.
Confail's protest highlights critical issues within the company, which unions have long denounced: heavy shifts, staff shortages, and disorganized services. These issues, once again, risk being passed on to citizens, forced to contend with an increasingly fragile public transportation system.

It seems that the transportation situation in Naples continues to be very complicated. Union protests are frequent, and commuters are increasingly struggling. We hope a solution to these organizational problems can be found.
