Naples, December 1933. The city is immersed in a winter suspended between shadows and mystery, and walking its streets is still him: Luigi Alfredo Ricciardi, a police commissioner blessed with a gift—or perhaps a curse—that sets him apart from all others. Starting Monday, November 10, the character created by Maurizio de Giovanni returns to Rai1 with the third season of "Il Commissario Ricciardi," a co-production between Rai Fiction and Clemart srl, directed by Gianpaolo Tescari. Four new primetime episodes in which mystery and emotion once again intertwine against the backdrop of a period Naples, elegant and restless, dominated by the allure of chiaroscuro and the contradictions of time.
A new chapter in Ricciardi's life begins: after a long courtship filled with glances and silences, the commissioner has finally found the courage to propose to Enrica Colombo, the reserved neighbor who has haunted his thoughts for years. The two begin dating officially, despite Enrica's mother's resistance and the burden of an unspeakable secret: she still doesn't know "the fact," that supernatural gift the commissioner can't reveal to anyone.
Around him, the lives of the other characters intertwine in a mosaic of pain and redemption. Brigadier Maione is haunted by the memory of his tragically lost son Luca, while Dr. Modo finds himself supporting the son of Lina, the prostitute murdered by a gang of young men. On the romantic front, Livia, the woman who once loved Ricciardi, experiences a troubled relationship with Major Manfred, Enrica's former suitor, a union marked by compromise and the suffocating control of Falco, a political police officer devoted to the regime but also prey to jealousy.
The enigmatic figure of Countess Bianca Palmieri di Roccaspina, Ricciardi's friend and confidante, is also present. This time, she is forced to make a choice that risks compromising her reputation forever.
The commissioner's new investigations unfold amidst sentimental and moral entanglements, and in one of the episodes he will have to confront a serial killer, at a time when the term "serial killer" had not yet entered criminology textbooks.
With its atmosphere suspended between reality and vision, “Inspector Ricciardi – third season” promises to restore to audiences the poetic and melancholic power that made the series a success.
