Ischia – A daring overnight theft, but an impossible-to-hide tattoo turned a masterstroke into a resounding own goal. Carabinieri officers from the local station have reported a 29-year-old local man, already known to law enforcement, for aggravated theft. He emptied the cash register of a popular bar on Corso Vittorio Colonna, stealing €11 in cash and six staff tablets.
The discovery came at dawn, shortly after the establishment opened. The owner, a local businessman, immediately noticed signs of forced entry on the front door. Once inside, he was in for a nasty surprise: the cash register had been cleared out, thousands of euros accumulated since the previous evening gone.
Not only that, but the six tablets used by employees for daily operations were also missing. Wasting no time, the man alerted the Carabinieri, who launched a swift on-site investigation.
The street's surveillance cameras provided the decisive breakthrough. While analyzing the footage, investigators zoomed in on an unmistakable detail: the man filmed forcing his way in sported a distinctive tattoo on his right forearm, featuring two skulls and mysterious writing, and an ace of spades, the iconic symbol of poker cards, on the back of his right hand.
That brand betrayed him like a signature
The search quickly focused on an old abandoned building on Via Terme, a perfect hideout for those familiar with the area. The raid began in the afternoon: officers caught the 29-year-old in possession of a partial haul, including blister packs of coins, envelopes containing €5 in cash, and a duffel bag containing the six stolen tablets. The rest of the money had presumably already been spent or hidden elsewhere.
The stolen goods were immediately returned to their rightful owner, while the suspect was taken to police and charged with aggravated theft. Investigations are ongoing to identify any accomplices.

It's truly strange how certain situations can happen. A betraying tattoo seems like something out of a movie. I wonder if the boy planned it all or if it was just a coincidence. I hope the arrests serve as a lesson.
