AVERSA – Carabinieri patrols in the Land of Fires continue relentlessly. Between November 11 and 12, two separate operations in Gricignano di Aversa and Cesa led to the seizure of areas transformed into illegal landfills for special waste, including hazardous waste, and the filing of a complaint against a citizen for serious environmental violations.

A GricignanoOn Via Casolla, officers from the local station, coordinated by the Marcianise Company, discovered a pile of industrial waste—paint, sheathing, electrical cables, and contaminating materials—abandoned on the public road. The load, estimated at approximately two tons, was seized along with the contaminated soil. The area, which lacks surveillance cameras, has been reported to the municipality for cleanup operations, while the investigation into illegal waste management is currently pending against unknown persons.

The next day, the Carabinieri of the Station of Cesa, together with colleagues from the Marcianise Forestry Department, identified another abandoned site on Via Tevere, covering an area of approximately 1,000 square meters. Among oily substances, metal scraps, mechanical waste, and an illegal wastewater dump, the scene revealed a picture of serious environmental degradation. The landowner was reported and fined over 19,000 euros.

The two operations are part of the extraordinary control plan of the Aversa Carabinieri Group, which has been intensifying operations in the municipalities of the Land of Fires for months. The goal is to stop the chain of illegal dumping and protect the health of residents. The force assures that inspections will continue in the coming days, with particular attention to the areas most affected by pollution.

This is a serious problem, with waste still being abandoned on the streets. Carabinieri checks are necessary, but people also need to be educated not to throw trash everywhere, otherwise nothing will be solved.
