Naples - Municipal Police raid: sidewalks cleared and road finally passable.
A busy morning on Via San Giacomo dei Capri, in Arenella, one of the most congested streets in the neighborhood and the main corridor to the hospital area.

The officers, assisted by several tow trucks, removed numerous cars parked illegally from the sidewalks, which were occupied for entire stretches in both directions.
This intervention became essential to restore minimum safety conditions: for some time, pedestrians had been forced to walk on the road, while car traffic was constrained by the narrowing of the road.

The operation was reported to the MP Green Left Alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli and Rino Nasti, councilor of Europa Verde of the V Municipality, by the lawyer Fabio Procaccini, who has been active for years in reporting critical issues in the neighborhood.

Borrelli and Nasti express satisfaction: "Now we need systematic interventions."

"This is a very important action," Borrelli and Nasti stated, "which demonstrates the constant commitment of the Municipal Police, led by Commander Marraffino. Clearing the sidewalks of cars means ensuring dignity and safety for pedestrians. We hope it serves as a warning to those many drivers who continue to behave in an uncivilized manner."

According to the two Europa Verde representatives, residents welcomed the initiative, appreciating the new-found passability of the road. "It's now crucial that these operations become systematic and timely throughout the city. Only in this way can we truly discourage those who don't follow the rules and combat the scourge of illegal parking."

A signal for the entire neighborhood

The removal of illegally parked cars is not only an effort to restore order, but also a clear message: pedestrian mobility cannot be sacrificed. Via San Giacomo dei Capri, at least for now, is returning to its natural function. It remains to be seen whether the raid will be an isolated incident or the beginning of a sustained enforcement effort against one of the city's most deeply rooted—and dangerous—habits.
