Naples - The State Police have executed a precautionary detention order against a 34-year-old Neapolitan man with several criminal records, considered a serious suspect in the crime of aggravated theft.
The order was issued by the preliminary investigations judge of the Court of Naples at the request of the local Public Prosecutor's Office, following the conclusion of the investigation conducted by the Secondigliano Police Station.
The investigation stems from an incident that occurred on the night of October 4th, outside a bar on Corso Secondigliano. According to investigators' reconstruction, the suspect opened the car door of a patron of the establishment, took a bag containing a substantial sum of money, and then fled.
Critical to the investigation was the review of images captured by local surveillance cameras, which captured the moment of the theft and allowed officers to launch an on-site investigation. Thanks to subsequent checks, officers were able to identify the alleged perpetrator. The investigation is continuing to identify any possible accomplices.
The precautionary measure, issued during the preliminary investigation phase, is subject to appeal. It is important to remember that the person subject to the measure is under investigation and therefore considered innocent until a final sentence is reached.
