Nightlife under siege in Pozzuoli: two axes also seized.

Pozzuoli - A major checkpoint in the area marked the weekend's nightlife. Carabinieri The Pozzuoli Company has thoroughly combed the city's streets, cars, and sensitive areas, in an extraordinary operation aimed at combating drug dealing, widespread illegality, and impaired driving.

Drugs, cash, and two axes in the trunk

The first operation took place on Via Domitiana, where two young men from Giugliano in Campania were reported at large. In their car, officers found marijuana, packaging materials, and €1.175 in cash, believed to be consistent with drug dealing. An unusual find was also found in the trunk: two axes, which were promptly seized along with the drugs.

Two young men from Pozzuoli arrested: 74 grams of drugs

Alfredo Ferrigno, 24, and Salvatore Maddaluno, 26, both from Pozzuoli, were arrested on Via Alvaro. The two were hiding a total of over 74 grams of cocaine and hashish, as well as cash believed to be the proceeds of the illegal activity. All the material was seized; the young men are now awaiting trial.

Baseball bat and refusal to take breathalyzer test: more complaints

The checks continued on Via G. Severini, where a 22-year-old was reported for being in possession of a 61-centimeter baseball bat. On Via Madonna del Pantano, a 21-year-old refused to submit to blood alcohol and drug tests, and was also reported.

Driving without a license: reports and penalties

Two people were charged with driving without a license, with repeat offenses within the past two years or previous revocation. Seven young people were reported to the Prefecture for drug use, with the seizure of an additional 7,58 grams of various narcotics.

Overall, the checks involved 46 vehicles and 99 people. The final tally was 32 traffic fines, 5 licenses revoked, and 8 vehicles seized, confirming the intensity of the operation and the attention paid by law enforcement to ensuring safety during Pozzuoli's nightlife.
