NAPLES – State Police are continuing non-stop extraordinary checks in Scampia to combat drug trafficking and related illicit activities. Yesterday morning, officers from the Mobile Squad conducted an operation in Largo Baruch de Spinoza, finding six packages containing cocaine, weighing approximately 1,2 kg, hidden inside a baseboard. The substance was seized from unknown persons.
During the same operation, police searched the home of a 56-year-old Neapolitan man and found five laptops, a modem, 41 smartphones, 1.116 SIM cards from various providers, and five debit or credit cards registered to different individuals. The man provided no plausible justification for possessing the devices and was therefore charged with receiving stolen goods.
The operation is part of a broader plan implemented by the Naples Police Headquarters to dismantle drug dealing networks and monitor the illicit use of technological tools, often used to coordinate drug trafficking and fraudulent financial transactions. Investigations are continuing to identify any possible connections to other criminal incidents in the area.
