Naples – From the outskirts to the historic heart of Naples, the language of radio is once again a tool for community and redemption. On Monday, November 10, at Parco San Laise (former NATO Base in Bagnoli), the first day of the "On the Road Next Generation" project, promoted by the parish of San Giorgio Maggiore in Forcella, will take place. This marks the official launch of a new station: Radio On the Road.

The initiative, funded entirely by a call for proposals from the Campania Welfare Foundation of the Campania Region, aims to train young Neapolitans in radio and audiovisual communication techniques, through a program that combines social inclusion and digital innovation.

The program includes courses on the history of radio, practical use of equipment, diction, live broadcast software, and post-production, with the participation of media professionals and companies. The goal is to provide concrete skills to young people who will then join the team of the new station established in the heart of Forcella, within the parish community.

"It will be the street voice of Naples," the organizers explain, "a radio station broadcasting online and via app, 24 hours a day, alternating music, news, and self-managed spaces dedicated to volunteers and associations. It will tell the stories of the neighborhoods, starting with the most vulnerable, and those experiencing social and youth hardship."

The opening day will feature students from the ITI Augusto Righi, IIS Vittorio Emanuele, and ITT Marie Curie institutes in Ponticelli, who have already taken PCTO courses in radio and audiovisual skills.

With "Radio On the Road," the voices of Naples' youth finally find their own unique frequency: a signal that travels throughout the city, combining technology, passion, and civic engagement.

The initiative seems interesting to young people, but I have doubts about how they'll manage it all. Radio is a powerful medium, but it also requires experience. I hope they can succeed and grow together.
