A man was arrested and reported in Salerno after harassing a group of young women in the city center. The incident occurred on Corso Garibaldi, one of the city's busiest streets, where the man, visibly intoxicated, began harassing passersby. Shortly thereafter, he approached a group of young people near a store, behaving aggressively and threateningly.
Alerted by residents, the police quickly intervened, detaining the man and taking him to the police station for identification. The man, a Moroccan national, did not have valid documents. After the usual checks, he was charged with harassment and transferred to the Potenza repatriation detention center, pending repatriation procedures.
The incident has raised alarm among residents and visitors to the historic center, who are calling for increased security and safety in the city's busiest areas. Police have assured that checks will be stepped up to prevent similar incidents.
