SALERNO – A punch in the face, the phone snatched from his hands, and a stampede through the crowd on the Trieste seafront. It happened yesterday afternoon in the heart of Salerno, where police arrested a foreign man accused of aggravated robbery of a minor. The attack occurred in a matter of moments, in full view of passersby.
The young man, injured and in shock, called for help, allowing patrol officers to quickly arrive on the scene. After receiving the robber's complaint and description, the officers began tracking him down and located him shortly thereafter near the train station. The man, who was trying to run away, still had the cell phone stolen from the victim.
The minor was treated for his injuries, while the robber was arrested and taken to the police station. The incident rekindled security concerns in the city center, an area frequented by families and tourists. Prompt police intervention, however, prevented the violence from escalating.

This episode of violence is worrying, but it's a good thing the police acted quickly. But I wonder how these things can happen in such a busy place. It's not normal.
