The wounding of CN, 34, resident of Sarno, which occurred on the evening of November 8 in Crotone, in the northern district of Tufolo-Farina, appears to be linked to the world of drug dealing.
According to an initial reconstruction, the man allegedly got into a heated argument with a group of people, which then degenerated into a shootout: CN was hit by three gunshots in the leg.
Rescued and rushed to the Pugliese Hospital in Catanzaro, he underwent delicate surgery to stop a severe hemorrhage. The prognosis remains guarded, but his life is not thought to be in danger.
During subsequent checks, officers from the Crotone Police Headquarters' Flying Squad, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, found three kilos of hashish in the victim's car, a quantity large enough to warrant an arrest warrant.
Investigators have not ruled out the possibility that it was a "punitive shooting" related to internal conflicts within the drug dealing world. Law enforcement is acquiring video surveillance footage and gathering witness statements to identify those responsible for the attack and clarify the motives behind it.
The investigation is also aimed at establishing the 34-year-old's role in the drug dealing world, that of courier, and therefore tracing the drug suppliers and who the drugs were destined for. Whether he purchased them in Calabria or was transporting them from Campania.
