Naples - It was around 1:00 a.m. when a 42-year-old man, a resident of Cercola and already known to law enforcement, arrived at the Pellegrini Hospital in Naples with a gunshot wound to his left foot. Paramedics called the Carabinieri after determining the nature of the injury.
According to an initial, still fragmentary reconstruction of the facts, the man was in wanted, near Palladino Park, when he was allegedly approached by individuals currently unknown. For reasons that are unclear—and remain under investigation—one of those present fired a gunshot, hitting him in the heel.
The 42-year-old was taken to the hospital, where he remains hospitalized. His condition is not particularly worrying: doctors have given him a 30-day prognosis.
Carabinieri officers from the Volla station are working on the case, trying to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the incident and determine whether it was a targeted attack, a warning, or a completely random incident. At this time, investigators emphasize, no leads have been ruled out.
