The Campania Regional Administrative Court (TAR) has rejected the appeal by Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli against the Naples City Council's injunction requiring payment of over €255 for local police services during the club's home games.
The club had argued that Napoli's matches at the Maradona Stadium should be considered events of public interest, a view that was however rejected by the judges of the First Section, presided over by Vincenzo Salamone. The enforcement notices served by the Municipality to the club concern home matches played between October 8, 2023, Napoli vs. Fiorentina, and November 24, 2024, Napoli vs. Roma, in Serie A and European competitions.
The ruling thus confirms the club's obligation to cover the costs of employing police officers, marking a setback in the legal dispute between the club and the municipal administration.
