The "Bazaar of Illegality": 46 dangerous products seized by Finance Police in Benevento.

From cosmetics to toys to DIY supplies: the downtown store sold "anonymous" items, with no Italian labeling and, in some cases, no CE marking. The raid was carried out by the Economic and Financial Police Unit.

Benevento – An entire bazaar of potentially dangerous and illegal products, ready to be sold. This is what the financial police of the Benevento Economic and Financial Police Unit discovered during an inspection of a business in the capital of Sannio, which led to the seizure of 46.000 items.

The raid uncovered a vast assortment of non-compliant goods, potentially posing a risk to consumers. The Guardia di Finanza targeted:

Personal care products: deodorants, face masks, and hand masks.
Hardware and DIY supplies, such as carbon brush sets.
Stationery and school supplies, including crayons and markers.

What all these products had in common was the complete absence of the minimum safety information required by law. The labels, in fact, did not provide essential information in Italian: from the manufacturer or importer to the place of origin, from instructions and precautions for use to the product's intended use.

In several cases, the violation appeared even more serious: some items even lacked the CE mark, the certification that certifies their compliance with European Union safety standards. This turned simple administrative irregularities into a potential threat to people's safety.

In light of the extremely serious irregularities discovered, the military proceeded with the administrative seizure of the entire consignment of illegal goods. The retailer, reported to the competent administrative authority, will now face a heavy fine. The operation, in addition to cracking down on unfair competition to the detriment of honest traders, also ensured consumer safety by removing from the market a huge quantity of products that, due to their "anonymity," posed a silent and widespread risk.
