Santa Maria Capua Vetere – A jealous outburst escalated into tragedy, transforming a normal afternoon into a bloody drama. Yesterday, November 11, Carabinieri officers from the Mobile Radio Unit of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Police Station arrested a 40-year-old woman of Moroccan origin on charges of attempted murder.
According to the police's initial reconstruction, the woman allegedly attacked her partner, a 35-year-old fellow Italian, at the height of an argument that erupted inside their home. Blinded by rage, she grabbed a kitchen knife with a blade about twenty centimeters long, stabbing him multiple times, including in the chest.

The alarm was raised when some neighbors, frightened by the screams, called for help. The Carabinieri and an ambulance arrived on the scene. The victim, found lying in a pool of blood, was rushed to Caserta Hospital, where she underwent delicate surgery. Her condition remains serious: doctors are holding off on giving a prognosis.
The 40-year-old woman, arrested immediately after the incident, reportedly did not resist arrest. She was taken to the police station for routine checks and then transferred to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere women's prison, where she will be held by the judicial authorities.
Investigators are now trying to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the attack and to understand whether there were previous episodes of violence within the couple.
