Naples – A massive and ongoing security operation has been deployed by the Naples Police Headquarters to curb the rampant phenomenon of predatory crime along the crucial Asse Mediano and its main connecting roads.
The initiative marks a further, decisive response from the PolicePolice of the State to the need for security perceived by the community.
The operation, part of a "continuous and widespread" commitment to ensuring law and order throughout the country, saw the mobilization of a significant joint force. Officers from the Flying Squad deployed, supported by the Naples Highway Police Section and the local police stations: Frattamaggiore, Giugliano-Villaricca, Afragola, and Scampia.

The patrols were strategically deployed along highways and ring roads considered crime hotspots—areas most at risk of robberies, thefts, and assaults.
The activity focused on targeted checks and constant monitoring of traffic flows. The primary objective is to ensure a visible and timely presence in the area, acting as an immediate deterrent to crime and enabling rapid intervention in the event of a crime being committed.
With this intensification of services, the State Police confirms its daily commitment to protecting the public, significantly strengthening its efforts to prevent and combat organized and common crime, and responding with determination and practicality to security needs.

It's important that the police carry out these checks, but I hope it's not just a cosmetic operation. Safety is essential, but we also need more initiatives to engage the local community and build networks.
