NAPLES - "Regret for the first half and satisfaction for the second." Raffaele Palladino chooses to be frank in describing his debut as Atalanta coach. In Naples, the team showed two sides, and the coach makes no excuses: "We started off tense; it was our fault. But we had little time to work."
Juric's immediate replacement and the international break minimized the chance of influencing the group. "I tried to convey as many ideas as possible, now we have to work further," explains Palladino, who, however, is sticking to what he saw after the break. "I like the second-half reaction: there are technical, physical, and human qualities. We need to build on that."
Scamacca's introduction was also crucial in the second half's turnaround: "In the second half, we benefited from his impact in attack," the coach acknowledged, confident that the striker could become a key player in the Nerazzurri's resurgence. But beyond the technical aspects, Palladino emphasized their attitude: "They're soldiers, they're incredibly serious and have a great desire to get out of this situation."
