Yesterday evening, November 7th, the Carabinieri of the Aversa Company deployed an extraordinary patrol force in the municipalities of Aversa and Frignano, aimed at combating crimes and traffic violations. The toll is heavy: three people were reported, two were reported to the Prefecture for personal use of narcotics, and numerous administrative fines were imposed.
Among the most high-profile cases, a 20-year-old from Aversa was caught driving a car without ever having obtained a license, a repeat offender within two years. An 18-year-old from Lusciano, meanwhile, was found with a fake driver's license, never registered with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, and fined for driving without a license.
During the searches, a 26-year-old from Villa Literno was reported for possession of a switchblade, while a 60-year-old from Castel Volturno and a 22-year-old from Sant'Antimo were reported to the Prefecture for possession of a total of 5,85 grams of hashish.

Officers issued 21 tickets for violations such as lack of insurance, driving without a license, without a helmet, or without a seatbelt. Two vehicles were administratively seized and one vehicle was impounded, for a total fine of €13.994. During the operation, 80 people and 46 vehicles were checked.
The operation confirms the Carabinieri's constant presence in the area, with the aim of ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

The Carabinieri operation appears to have been effective, but I wonder whether these control measures are sufficient to actually reduce crimes and violations. Security is important, but a cultural shift among people is also needed.
