Naples – A veritable bomb depot in the heart of Barra. Naples Local Police, with the IAES Investigative Operations Unit, raided a 1.000-square-meter industrial warehouse illegally converted into a logistics and wholesale center for explosives and counterfeit goods.
The alarm was raised when the officers discovered that inside the warehouse, which lacked any fire safety certification or safety devices, impressive quantities of explosives were stored: 4.560 electrically triggered pyrotechnic fountains.
346 sachets of titanium powder (73 kg in total) over 1.000 kg of various pyrotechnic material, of which 245 kg of Net Explosive Content (NEC)
A potential disaster waiting to explode just steps from the neighborhood's homes. But that's not all. Alongside the explosives, thousands of professional audio and lighting electronics products were found, allegedly bearing counterfeit brands from major international companies in the sector.

The illegal activity was run by a Chinese couple, completely lacking the administrative and public security authorizations for the possession and sale of explosive materials and protected goods. The two were reported for the illegal possession and sale of explosive materials and for the sale of products with false markings.
The entire warehouse, along with the explosives, audio and lighting equipment, and all the counterfeit merchandise, were seized and made available to the Judicial Authorities for technical assessment. This operation prevented the worst and confirms how, even in the suburbs of Naples, criminals continue to gamble with the lives of citizens to make million-dollar deals.

It's incredible that illegal activities are still taking place so close to people's homes. Citizen safety should be a priority; it's unthinkable that explosives stockpiles exist unchecked. I hope serious action is taken.
