In the middle of the weekend, the State Police launched a targeted operation in Frattamaggiore to strengthen security in the area. Local police officers combed streets and businesses, identifying 218 people, including 56 with criminal records.
Attention has focused on those with a problematic past, with thorough checks to prevent recidivism and ensure public order.
At the same time, the checks were extended to vehicles: of the 96 cars and motorcycles inspected, two were seized and one was placed under administrative detention. Traffic violations were also detected, with four violations resulting in fines totaling approximately €7.000. These actions aim to discourage dangerous behavior and ensure safe mobility in a municipality often exposed to illicit trafficking.
The crux of the operation, however, involved the two businesses that were scrutinized. The owners received hefty fines totaling €6.000: one for serious hygiene and sanitation deficiencies, which exposed customers and employees to health risks; the other for the lack of a SCIA (Certified Notification of Commencement of Business), a requirement for legal operations.
The situation was further complicated by the second business, where the owner was charged with unauthorized opening of a place of public entertainment or entertainment. This offense, punishable by current legislation, highlights an abuse that could jeopardize public safety, especially in unauthorized gatherings.
