The Naples Police Headquarters is intensifying extraordinary operations throughout the city, sending a strong and continuous signal in its fight against drug trafficking. The latest round of operations led to the arrest of two individuals, both caught in the act in key areas of the city.
In the last twenty-four hours, the State Police arrested a 29-year-old Ghanaian man and a 42-year-old Algerian man, the latter already known to law enforcement and with a criminal record for drug dealing and resisting arrest.
The first arrest on Via Albanese
The first incident took place yesterday afternoon on Via Albanese. Officers from the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station, during a targeted patrol, spotted the 29-year-old making a quick exchange: a banknote for a package, which he gave to a suspect who immediately fled.
Upon seeing the police, the drug dealer attempted to flee, making it difficult to apprehend him. After a chase and considerable difficulty, the young man was apprehended. The search revealed the following:
3 sticks of hashish (total weight 5,5 grams).

Constitution Avenue: Second Drug Dealer Arrested
At the same time, the Vasto-Arenaccia Police Station was engaged in a similar operation on Viale della Costituzione. Here, officers on patrol observed the 42-year-old Algerian—already registered for drug dealing and resisting arrest—exchanging drugs for money.
Once again, upon seeing the patrol, the dealer attempted a hasty escape, but was caught and stopped by the police with some difficulty. Five bars of hashish, weighing a total of approximately 12 grams, were found on him.
Both suspects were arrested for illegal possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. The Naples Police Headquarters will continue its enforcement operations.
