Castel Volturno – Blade strikes fill the thick air of Castel Volturno. These are the knives found on four young men during a targeted check by Carabinieri officers, who filed one report after another for illegal possession of weapons.
The territorial control operation, aimed at preventing and repressing crime, turned into a chain of seizures. Personal searches left no escape: all four youths were found in possession of knives, ready for use.
The Benemerita targeted a 21-year-old and a 19-year-old, both from Castel Volturno. The former was carrying a knife with an 8-centimeter blade, while his traveling companion was carrying an even longer 10-centimeter one. They were joined by two friends from Giugliano in Campania, an 18-year-old and a 20-year-old, also armed with 10-centimeter knives.

But for three of them—the 21-year-old from Castel Volturno and the two friends from Giugliano—the night took a turn for the worse. In addition to the knife charges, the Caserta Prefecture was also notified of possession of hashish. The quantities were small, but enough to increase the charges: 1,3 grams for the older man, 2,5 for the 20-year-old, and a whopping 4 grams for the 18-year-old.
The most severe measures were applied to the latter, the youngest of the group. The Carabinieri ordered the immediate withdrawal of his driving license. At the time of the stop, the eighteen-year-old was behind the wheel of a Lancia Ypsilon: a "luxury" he could not afford, given his irregular driving and the serious crime he was accused of. A car ride ended in the worst possible way, with a journey on foot and a long series of legal troubles.

It's truly incredible how these young people can have such long knives. I don't understand why they don't think about the consequences of their actions. I hope these measures will serve to make all the young people in the area think.
