The Carabinieri's war against the environmental crimes plaguing the so-called Land of Fires continues unabated. This morning, a large-scale operation coordinated by the Caserta Provincial Command saw the Mondragone Territorial Unit on the front lines, engaged in a targeted operation along the entire Domitian coast to expose and crack down on illegal dumping activities.
The massive offensive has had a serious impact: six areas designated for illegal landfills have been seized, and four individuals have been reported to the judicial authorities, held responsible for serious violations of environmental regulations. The primary objective of the operation was to identify waste dumping hotspots and investigate activities related to the irregular management of waste materials, often toxic or bulky.
From private courtyard to agricultural land: the Carabinieri raids
The Carabinieri's operations affected several municipalities. In Castel Volturno, the first complaint concerned a resident who was caught with his backyard transformed into a landfill of approximately 50 square meters, filled with construction debris, plastic, glass, and concrete blocks. The entire area was immediately seized.
Shortly thereafter, the local police identified and seized another illegal landfill of hazardous waste on a rural property on Via Macedonio (approximately 80 square meters), handing it over to the Municipality for safety.
The joint intervention of the Mondragone and Falciano del Massico stations was particularly significant, leading to the seizure of three separate uncontrolled landfills:
1. At the entrance to the former "Iacobucci" quarry.
2. Along the Falciano–Mondragone provincial road.
3. On the Ciaurro municipal road, where the situation appeared particularly critical due to the presence of disused and bulky refrigerators that risked blocking the nearby stream.

Finally, in Carinola, the local police station reported three owners of an agricultural property of over 3.000 square meters, used to store ferrous materials, construction waste, mechanical parts, and several trucks. Again, the entire area was seized.
The operation's numbers and strategic plan
At the end of the service, the Mondragone Territorial Department took stock of the operation:
4 people reported
6 sites seized
13 vehicles checked (including waste transport vehicles)
17 people identified
The operation is part of the strategic anti-pollution controls implemented by the Caserta Provincial Command. In November alone, the force carried out numerous raids throughout the region: from Gricignano di Aversa and Cesa (special waste, oily materials, and fines totaling over €19.000) to Orta di Atella (the seizure of 10 tons of tires and mattresses, and 450 cubic meters of industrial waste, with two reports), to Frignano (13.000 square meters of agricultural land blocked for hazardous waste) and Villa Literno (auto body repair shop and illegal buildings).
The Provincial Command assures that its utmost commitment to territorial control and the prevention of environmental crimes remains intact, with targeted services and a constant presence in the most at-risk areas. Extraordinary operations will continue in the coming days.
