Ottaviano – Carabinieri from the Ottaviano station this morning executed a precautionary measure issued by the preliminary investigations judge of the Court of Naples, at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, against a man considered a serious suspect in the crime of attempted extortion aggravated by mafia methods.
According to investigations coordinated by the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office—which are part of the anti-mafia investigation—the suspect allegedly targeted a businessman operating in the medical transport sector, demanding payment to allow him to continue working without "problems."
According to the prosecution's reconstruction, the man clearly made it clear to the victim that he was acting "on behalf of his friends from Castellammare," a phrase that, in street parlance, evokes the shadow of the clans in the Stabia area.

The military's investigations documented the climate of intimidation experienced by the entrepreneur, who was forced to choose between the peaceful continuation of his business and the risk of retaliation. It was precisely the reference to the alleged "mandate" from mafia circles that triggered the hypothesis of the aggravating circumstance of mafia methods contested by the DDA.

The article discusses a very serious and worrying case of extortion. It's important that law enforcement continue to work to stop these crimes. I hope the entrepreneur can return to work without fear.
