Naples – The earth continues to shake, and apprehension is growing in the Phlegraean Fields. A new, significant earthquake struck the Phlegraean Fields late this afternoon, Saturday, November 22nd, once again causing residents to panic.
The earthquake, recorded by the Vesuvius Observatory at 18:55 PM, reached a magnitude of 3.0, making it the most intense event of the day and one of the strongest in recent months.
The hypocenter, as usual, was located in the volcanic area, notoriously affected by the phenomenon of bradyseism.
Also felt in Naples
While the first tremor of the afternoon, which occurred at 15:04 PM and had a magnitude of 2.2, went almost unnoticed, the one at 18:55 PM was felt distinctly and clearly not only in the epicentral area of Pozzuoli and Agnano, but also in numerous neighborhoods of the city of Naples, especially those closest to the Phlegraean Fields, such as Bagnoli and Fuorigrotta.

Alert and Controls
Despite widespread fear and alarm calls to the fire department, fortunately, authorities have confirmed that no damage to people or structures has been reported. Civil Protection and firefighter teams immediately began routine checks in the highest-risk areas to verify the integrity of buildings, but the situation appears to be under control.
Experts continue to monitor the constantly evolving bradyseism situation, but reiterate that the seismic sequence is within the expected norm for an active volcanic area like Campi Flegrei. However, utmost vigilance remains.
