Naples – The Phlegraean Fields are once again making themselves felt, with intense seismic activity that interrupted the calm of Tuesday afternoon. According to the Vesuvius Observatory of the INGV (National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology), the swarm began at 11:36 this morning, with a series of tremors that struck the Phlegraean Fields.
The most significant event occurred at 13:49 PM: a magnitude 2.7 earthquake, with its epicenter just meters from the Solfatara, in the Pozzuoli area, at a depth of just 3 kilometers. The tremor was clearly felt not only by residents of Pozzuoli and surrounding areas, but also in several areas of Naples, where many described a roar followed by a prolonged tremor.
Since this morning, the swarm has generated over 15 seismic events, the latest of magnitude 2.

However, experts from the Vesuvius Observatory are intervening to reassure the population. "This is a phenomenon typical of Phlegraean bradyseism, with no indications of a dangerous escalation," they explain. Monitoring continues 24 hours a day, with citizens urged to follow safety guidelines and avoid alarmism.
