The Carabinieri of the NAS of Caserta have brought to light a situation of serious animal abuse, discovering and seizing an illegal kennel set up inside a private home on the Domitian coast.
The operation, conducted with the support of local health authority staff, resulted in the rescue of 22 mixed-breed dogs forced to live in extremely precarious conditions.
During the inspection, the officers found serious violations of hygiene and animal welfare standards. The animals were confined in cramped spaces, without ventilation, surrounded by hazardous waste, food scraps, and tons of excrement. The conditions the dogs were kept in were described as "disrespectful of animal dignity" and potentially dangerous to public health.

Following the inspections, the business owners were reported to the competent judicial authorities, and the entire home, along with its appurtenances, was placed under precautionary seizure, with an estimated total value of approximately €750.000.
The animals, based on their health, were transferred to suitable healthcare facilities or entrusted to private individuals who agreed to take them in. The intervention by the NAS Carabinieri confirms the police's commitment to protecting animal welfare and combating illegal activities in the healthcare sector.

This is a truly terrible and strange situation. I don't understand how the dogs could have been treated so badly. I hope the authorities take strong action and the dogs find happy homes.
