Naples – In the first ten months of 2025, 183 women entered the Cardarelli Hospital emergency room after experiencing gender-related violence. This is a dramatic rate: more than one case every two days, the highest figure recorded in the last three years.
The trend confirms steady growth. In 2024, there were 180 admissions, while in 2023, they were 175. For years, Cardarelli has been among the Italian hospitals with the highest number of admissions related to incidents of violence against women.
Since 2016, the year Percorso Rosa was launched, approximately 1.700 women have been welcomed by dedicated staff. Each woman receives comprehensive care, which, upon request, can include activation of local anti-violence services and support in reporting the case to the authorities.

The hospital thus underscores its role not only in healthcare, but also in social services, in a city where the phenomenon still shows worrying numbers.
On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Cardarelli also reminds you of the activation of the number dedicated to the management of situations of violence:

A measure that, unfortunately, proves necessary.

The article addresses a very serious and worrying issue. It's important for women to receive help and support when they experience violence. But the numbers are disturbing; new cases of violence appear almost every day.
