Casal di Principe – A veritable ecological bombshell was defused by the Carabinieri of the local station, who sealed off a completely illegal body shop and reported the owner, a 58-year-old local man.
During a specific operation to investigate the illegal disposal of hazardous waste, the military discovered that the business was operating without any environmental permit and without documentation on the disposal of the waste produced.

Inside the area, used oil, paint cans, bumpers, mechanical components, and other highly polluting waste were found scattered around. A dramatic turn of events occurred during the inspection: a paint booth was discovered with no permits or fume abatement systems, in violation of all safety and environmental regulations. And that's not all.
The Carabinieri also detected a direct connection to the public electricity grid, bypassing the meter. For this reason, the 58-year-old was also charged with aggravated electricity theft. The entire body shop, including its equipment and waste, was placed under criminal seizure. Investigations are ongoing to determine any further liability and the extent of the environmental damage caused.
