Casalnuovo - Terror erupted last night in the heart of Casalnuovo, on Corso Umberto I, where an elderly shopkeeper was the victim of a violent armed robbery just moments before his grocery store closed.
The episode, which would have seemed almost grotesque if it were not for the seriousness of the act of intimidation, occurred when a lone man entered the shop run by a businessman born in 1936.
According to the reconstruction provided by the Carabinieri of the Castello di Cisterna Company, who immediately intervened on the scene, the robber allegedly fired a blank shot with the aim of sowing panic and securing the loot.

The stolen goods, of negligible value, are symptomatic of unscrupulous criminality: the bandit managed to escape, taking only 30 euros in cash from the register and a packet of mozzarella.
After grabbing the cash and the dairy product, the robber vanished. Police immediately launched an investigation and are working to identify the perpetrator, analyzing witness statements and any footage from the area's video surveillance systems.
