CASERTA – A wild, high-speed, wrong-way escape to avoid a Carabinieri checkpoint occurred in the Caserta area, along the SS7 Quater highway, where a 43-year-old man was arrested after a chase lasting approximately three kilometers.
The man, already known to the police for crimes against property and the person, was intercepted by a patrol of the Carabinieri of Mondragone while driving along the road at high speed.

The chase, with sirens blaring, ended only when the car—already seized—stopped because it ran out of fuel. The 43-year-old attempted to flee on foot, but was immediately stopped and arrested. The man, without a driving license, was taken to the holding cells of the Carabinieri Territorial Unit in Mondragone, awaiting a fast-track trial before the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
