Casoria - It was August 7th, a trivial argument inside a Casoria business apparently turned into a threatening episode typical of criminal language.
According to the prosecution, a man allegedly called out the shop owner for allegedly disrespecting him by mentioning the names and strength of the clans that have dominated the Casoria and Afragola areas for years, namely the Moccia clan.
Words as heavy as lead, supported – according to the Carabinieri – by a weapon that the suspect was allegedly carrying with him illegally.

At the request of the Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA), the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Court of Naples ordered his pre-trial detention. The order was executed by the Carabinieri of the Castello di Cisterna Investigative Unit, together with the Casoria Company, in a quiet but decisive operation aimed at defusing signs of a resurgence of criminal groups in the northern part of the province.
Investigators are talking about crimes related to the illegal possession and carrying of firearms, aggravated by mafia methods.
Behind this episode, we glimpse a broader context, that of a territory still contested between long-standing criminal families and new recruits seeking visibility through symbolic violence.

This threat seems to reflect a complex and difficult-to-manage reality. The presence of clans, like the Moccia clan, is a problem affecting many areas, not just Casoria. The question arises as to how the situation can be improved.
