Tuesday evening at the Castellammare di Stabia train station turned into a race against time for officers from the local police station, called to intervene following a report of a robbery that had occurred just moments earlier.
The victim, still shaken, said that while she was buying a ticket from a vending machine, she was approached by a young man who, without warning, violently struck her in the face, then stole a five-euro note from her and attempted to escape by climbing onto a train stopped on the platform.
The description provided was enough for officers to quickly identify the suspect: they boarded the train, caught up with him, and stopped him before he could leave. The twenty-six-year-old Neapolitan, already known to law enforcement, was arrested on suspicion of robbery, while investigations continue to reconstruct every detail of the attack.
