A crackdown on Neapolitan nightlife. Yesterday evening, law enforcement combed the vibrant nightlife of the historic center, focusing on the areas most frequented by young people and tourists.

The operation, coordinated by the Naples Police Headquarters, involved officers from the Decumani, Ponticelli, and San Giovanni-Barra police stations, supported by members of the Guardia di Finanza and technicians from the ASL Napoli 1 Centro.

The main nightlife arteries are in the spotlight: Via dei Tribunali, San Biagio dei Librai, Via Santa Chiara, Via Benedetto Croce, Calata Trinità Maggiore, as well as historic squares such as Bellini, San Domenico Maggiore, Piazza del Gesù and Piazzetta Nilo.

The operation's toll is heavy. Forty people were identified, ten vehicles were inspected, and one fine was issued for failure to maintain a periodic inspection. But the most worrying issues emerged on the premises: six businesses were inspected, with administrative fines totaling nearly €8.

Two businesses were forced to close their doors: inspections revealed unsanitary conditions incompatible with the serving of food and beverages. The owners also faced further complaints for various non-compliances with current regulations.

The initiative is part of a plan for intensified controls launched by the Police Headquarters to ensure safety and legality in Naples' nightlife areas, which are increasingly under the scrutiny of authorities for incidents of degradation and violations of regulations.

Yesterday's operation on nightlife in Naples was very significant, but there are also many issues to consider regarding enforcement. Not all venues should be closed; some are legal and deserve to continue operating without any problems.
