The Fire Brigade arrived on the scene within minutes, assisting the injured and securing the area, and the Local Police officers of the 1st Central Group closed off vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the affected area.

The four people injured are reportedly not in life-threatening condition, but have been taken to the hospital for checks. The Imperial Forum area, already crowded with tourists and passersby, was evacuated to allow for safety measures and to assess the structure's remaining stability.

The Torre dei Conti, built in the 13th century at the behest of Innocent III and belonging to the powerful family of the Counts of Segni, is one of the symbols of Roma Medieval. The collapse reignites controversy over the maintenance of the capital's historic monuments and the safety of construction sites that affect its artistic heritage.

This is a very sad and worrying event that raises questions about the safety of historic structures. I hope the injured recover quickly, but it's clear that there are maintenance issues that need to be addressed.
