A veritable illegal landfill was discovered by Carabinieri officers from the Sant'Arpino station in the municipality of Succivo, in the province of Caserta. The identified area, located in the Cardoni area, is on the edge of a farm road, in a rarely visited rural area.
During a targeted operation to combat environmental crimes, the military found a pile of special and non-special waste, abandoned by unknown persons over an area of approximately 15 square meters.
The illegal dump included plastics, various types of solid urban waste, construction waste, tires, and household appliance parts, for a total estimated weight of approximately 10 tons.

The entire area, along with the waste found, has been placed under criminal seizure and entrusted to the judicial custody of the Municipality of Succivo, which will handle the classification and subsequent disposal operations in accordance with current regulations.
The incident once again highlights the phenomenon of environmental malpractice and the need to strengthen local controls to prevent the proliferation of illegal landfills. Investigations are ongoing to identify the perpetrators of the illegal waste dumping.
