Brusciano - The scourge of domestic violence has struck again with dramatic ferocity, this time in Brusciano, where a woman was saved from yet another brutal assault by her husband only thanks to her daughter's quick thinking and courage.
This isn't just a simple argument: it's a multi-year ordeal, documented by medical reports and complaints, which has seen the victim disfigured and maimed on two separate occasions, forced to suffer two fractures to her nasal septum in the past, resulting in surgical interventions.
The silent alarm and the brilliance of the girl
The most recent incident occurred on November 5th. After moving from Pomigliano d'Arco to seek new peace, the woman was again attacked by her partner, suffering trauma and injuries with a prognosis of 30 days.
But this time, the violence was interrupted. While the man raged, the mother, in a final act of clarity and desperation, managed to start a video call.
And this is where the daughter's extraordinary skill emerges: understanding the gravity of the situation and the need for immediate intervention, the girl took a decisive step—a concerted, perhaps silent, but unmistakable signal—that allowed law enforcement to locate the home and intervene promptly.

Borrelli's complaint: "Immediate protection is needed."
The very serious matter was brought to the attention of Francesco Emilio Borrelli, MP for the Green-Side Alliance (AVS), who did not hesitate to define the story as "yet another cry of alarm that tears away the veil of hypocrisy."
"A woman was disfigured twice, forced to withdraw a previous complaint, and relapsed into terror, until courage and filial love saved her," Borrelli said. "This demonstrates how fragile the protection afforded to victims is and how urgent action is."
The MP announced that he will closely monitor the trial to ensure that the perpetrator is subjected to appropriate precautionary measures and that justice is applied with the utmost severity. The warning to the institutions is clear and direct:
The state must respond with harsh penalties and immediate protection for those who report. We cannot tolerate violent perpetrators continuing to move with impunity. Our tolerance for domestic violence is zero. We need an insurmountable bulwark that guarantees protection, certainty on the criminal front, and support for rebuilding a life free from fear.

Reading about the episode in Brusciano makes me reflect on how serious the situation is for women who suffer violence. It's unacceptable that there are cases of domestic violence, and the law must be tougher to protect victims.
