Forio d'Ischia, Panza – A morning of youth sports turned into an unacceptable episode of violence at the San Leonardo municipal stadium. Yesterday, during a match between the under-16 amateur teams of ASD Barano Calcio Academy and ASD Emanuele Troise, a brawl broke out involving about ten young players, forcing the Carabinieri of the Ischia branch to intervene.
The alarm was raised around 10:00 a.m. by some parents sitting in the stands, who called 112 to report a brawl among the children on the pitch. According to initial reports, tensions erupted over trivial matters related to the game, escalating into shoving and physical assaults that put the safety of all participants at risk. The referee, realizing the gravity of the situation, immediately suspended the match, declaring it to be 0-0 with no possibility of restarting.
The Carabinieri officers, who arrived promptly, identified the participants in the fight and collected statements from those present, including coaches and family members. No serious injuries have been reported so far, but the incident has raised serious concerns among the local community, which sees youth soccer as an opportunity for growth, not violence. Authorities are evaluating complaints for injuries and aggravated brawl, while the clubs involved have promised internal investigations to clarify the circumstances and prevent further incidents.

I agree with you too, the situation is worrying and we must do something to stop these incidents that are not good for anyone. Football must remain a sport.
It's sad to see a sport like soccer become a battleground, especially among young people. Violence is never a solution, and I hope those responsible are punished appropriately. More education is needed.
