The wave of severe weather that has been battering Campania since yesterday is giving firefighters no respite, as they are engaged in an intense series of rescue operations that have now exceeded two hundred interventions. Water damage, structural collapse, unsafe trees, and landslides are severely impacting several areas of the region, with the provinces of Naples, Avellino, and Salerno among the hardest hit.
The landslide in Montevergine: four hairpin bends affected
One of the most sensitive fronts is in the Avellino area, along the road leading to the Montevergine sanctuary, in the Ospedaletto d'Alpinolo area.

It's a difficult time for Campania. I see the firefighters working hard, but there's a lot of damage. Landslides and fallen trees can pose a danger to people and homes. I hope everything gets resolved soon.
