Gricignano di Aversa – They chose to flee rather than stop, but the chase lasted only a few hundred meters. The chase of four minors ended in the forecourt of a gas station, where they were stopped by Carabinieri officers from the Gricignano di Aversa station. The loot from the quick raid: a steel knuckle-duster, ready for use and immediately seized.

The scene unfolded along Via della Libertà, where a patrol car stationed at a checkpoint ordered a rental car to stop. Inside, the group of young people—all with no criminal record, from the municipalities of Teverola, Carinaro, and Aversa—decided to defy law enforcement by hitting the gas. A brief and unsuccessful escape ended safely inside a nearby gas station.

It was during the personal search and the search of the vehicle that the soldiers discovered the improper weapon: the knuckle-duster, hidden inside the passenger compartment.

The four boys, all minors, were immediately charged with illegal possession of offensive instruments.

The young driver, who had never held a driving license, was charged with additional violations of the Highway Code: driving without a license and failing to comply with a stop order issued by a public official.

The Carabinieri investigations did not stop at the minors. The investigations also identified the adult who physically handed over the rental vehicle to the children, without verifying their fitness to drive. He was fined for reckless entrustment.

The four youths were then released to their parents, while the knuckledusters were held at the police station pending their transfer to the Crime Records Office. The judicial authorities, both the ordinary court and the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, have now been informed of the incident and will evaluate their next steps.
