The Campania Region has decided to move from words to action: following the broadcast of "Report" on Rai 3, which focused on waiting lists in the regional healthcare system, the Authority instructed its Legal Office to file a defamation lawsuit against the program. The report, which aired on Sunday, November 23, 2025, sparked heated debate, but the Region's response was immediate and clear.
In an official statement, the Campania Region speaks of "a series of false and repeated inaccuracies" on the part of the program. "This is not the first time Report has spread incorrect data: already during the Covid pandemic, after a complaint from us, it was forced to publish a denial on its website," the statement reads.

The Region emphasizes that the allegations made by the broadcast are untrue and that the dissemination of unverified information damages the image of the Campania healthcare system.
The complaint represents a new chapter in the complex relationship between institutions and the media, especially when it comes to sensitive issues like public health. While the broadcast defends its role as a social watchdog, the Region insists on the need to respect the truthfulness of the data and the accuracy of the information.

The situation between the Region and Report is complicated, because on the one hand there are accusations of falsehoods, but on the other it's important to have accurate information. We hope an agreement can be reached that protects the truth.
