Salerno - The magic of the Luci d'Artista (Artist Lights) is about to come to life in Salerno, and Trenitalia is preparing to light up the tracks as well. For Campania's most anticipated Christmas event, scheduled from November 15, 2025, to January 6, 2026, special services have been activated to ensure a smoother and safer flow of passengers to the capital city of Salerno.
In agreement with the Campania Region and the Municipality of Salerno, Trenitalia has strengthened its regional and metropolitan service, with particular attention to weekends and peak days, including January 5 and 6, 2026. The goal is to facilitate the influx and outflow of visitors, especially during the festival's busiest events.
Overall, there will be 18 additional trips each day, for a total of approximately 11.000 available seats. The plan includes:
10 more journeys on the Salerno-Arechi metro line
3 additional trips on the Salerno – Naples Campi Flegrei route
5 extra trips on the Salerno – Caserta route
Furthermore, the capacity of the Salerno-Arechi metro connections will be increased in the afternoon, with over 5.000 additional seats compared to weekdays. This approach, already successfully tested in previous years, is crucial for managing the large influx of tourists and residents.
Access to trains will be permitted only to holders of valid tickets, which must be shown to service personnel. In collaboration with Security and the Railway Police, passengers will be directed to the correct platforms, following dedicated routes to avoid crowding and ensure maximum safety.
It's recommended to arrive at Salerno station well in advance, given the expected increase in passenger traffic and checkpoints. All Trenitalia ticket sales channels are already updated with the new special services.

Campania is preparing for a record-breaking Christmas: with lights, trains, and security, Salerno confirms its status as an unmissable destination for those seeking excitement and entertainment.

The news about the special runs is good, but I wonder if there will really be enough seats for everyone. With all these people out and about, it might be difficult to find a seat. Let's hope so!
