Campania continues to deal with severe weather: in Irpinia, heavy snow is falling on the peaks of Mount Partenio, reported by the Montevergine Meteorological Observatory, while emergency teams are working to secure the landslide that affected four bends of Via Montevergine in Ospedaletto d'Alpinolo. The area is under constant surveillance, supported by a helicopter flyover from the Salerno air force.
Not just the mountains: in the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese area, the overflowing Sarno River and its tributaries caused widespread flooding and disruption. Among the most affected municipalities were San Marzano sul Sarno, Pagani, Scafati, Nocera, and Angri. In Scafati, the most affected areas included Via Longole, Traversa Occhio di Bue, Via Terze, and some alleys off Via Orta Longa, particularly Traversa Morena. Piazza Garibaldi also experienced critical moments, but the situation resolved overnight.
Local authorities are urging residents to exercise extreme caution, while monitoring and response operations continue to limit risks and damage. The situation is being monitored in real time by Civil Protection teams, firefighters, and municipal technicians.
